I recently visited the SportsArt headquarters in Woodinville, WA.
I was pumped to see and use some of the grid-tied electricity-generating exercise equipment they offer. It is very cool because they are the only company manufacturing this kind of equipment.
First, I checked out the elliptical. This machine can charge your phone. It shows watts to the grid along with the usual stuff that you see on an elliptical dashboard. I got it up to 180 watts at one point. I found it to be very smooth with a high end feel.
Felt great! I was impressed.
They also have a recumbent bike with the nice step through. And it’s also super quiet. They also have an upright and a spin bike. I got the spin bike up to over 200 watts. It shows watts to the grid and also human watts so you can see how many watts you’re putting out versus how many are making it to the grid. It was very smooth and quiet.
